HANDICAPS
Handicaps are a way to make competitive disc golf a little more inviting. Not everyone is looking to become a pro. Some just want to play and have a good time. Handicap play levels the playing field and gives everyone a chance to shine.
Utilizing the Disc Golf United Global Handicapping Service, DiscGolfU members are taking league play to new levels around the globe.
The DGU system accounts for variations in course design and individual performance history to allow anyone to see how they stack up against the competition… worldwide.
Explaining the System:
Official DGU Handicap
Your Official DGU Handicap is what you would be expected to shoot on the DGU dream course. This course doesn’t actually exist but we sure wish it did. It would likely be the course we play every day.
Since disc golf courses do not all have the same design parameters, we created a standardized course allowing us to establish a baseline handicap. Our system uses information from our course database as well as your round scores to calculate how your score compares to the baseline.
There is also a built in Score Adjustment for each course you play. This allows your handicap to fluctuate depending on the challenge of the course.
Bam! There’s your handicap.
