More about the Tern: The Tern is a fast slightly understable disc that is designed for long shot shaping throws. What’s great about the Tern, is that you don’t have to have incredible power to throw it far. Just throw it flat and its glide and natural turn will take it from there.   3. Forehand or Backhand, if you’re looking to sail past your distance barriers, check into the Jessica Weese Halo Champion Shryke. How this batch of Halo Champion Shryke feels: Moderate to noticeable dome. Lots of grip to hold onto. *Mesmerizing Halo Champ runs. Black/Pink combo is a sight to behold. More about the player: With her textbook forehand and backhand form, Jessica Weese has one of the most balanced throwing games, well, in the game. Formerly a sidearm specialist, Weese has worked the last several years to better balance her driving game. Partly from injuries and partly from necessity, her backhand drive has emerged as a clutch weapon in her arsenal. Well versed in touring life, Weese has been playing full time since 2013. Some of her biggest credits include winning the 2018 DGPT Ledgestone Open and the 2015 PDGA NT Beaver State Fling. Not long ago, at the 2023 Chain Hawk Open – both she and her husband, Garrett Gurthie won their respective divsions. You get the feeling with Weese, that she could collect her next big win at any point. How this batch of Halo Star Destroyer feel: Noticeable dome typical of mold. Gobs of grip. More about the player: No matter the tournament, Calvin Heimburg is likely a favorite to win. Why? Because he has the complete game including big, accurate distance. Though he has yet to win his first major, Heimburg has owned the DGPT, winning 13 events including the Dynamic Discs Open and OTB Open last year. In 2023, he won the Ken Climo Player of the Year award. Plus, you can’t forget the DGPT Match Play Championship he took in 2021. More about the disc: If you’ve got plenty of power, it’s time you graduated to the Innova Destroyer. It’s the distance driver all others are judged by. The Halo edition comes with a touch more overstabilty and beautiful color contrast.   5. With her pure form and dialed-in accuracy Henna Blomroos is a distance specialist. Unlock your inner-bomber with her Proto Glow Halo Star Destroyer. How this batch of Proto Glow Halo Star Destroyer feel: Noticeable dome typical of mold. Softer feel. More about the player: Henna Blomroos is the silky smooth distance crusher from Finland. She’s so consistent it’s strange to see a tournament leaderboard without her near the top. A top Finnish pro since 2014, she made her first jump to U.S. events in 2019 with a 4th place finish at PDGA Pro Worlds and 3rd at the DGPT Jonesboro Open. Blomroos is the 2X European Disc Golf Champ and 2018 RE/MAX Open Champ. Most recently she tied for 2nd at the 2024 PDGA Champions Cup and claimed 2nd at the 2022 PDGA Pro Worlds. More about the disc: If you’ve got plenty of power, it’s time you graduated to the Innova Star Destroyer.   6. The Juliana Korver Proto Glow Halo Star Mamba is super consistent and will stay in top form for a very long time – just like the Disc Golf Hall of Famer herself. Notice: Halo effect will vary. How this batch of Proto Glow Halo Star Mamba feel: Noticeable dome. More about the player: From the late 1990’s to early 2000’s, Juliana Korver was THE woman to beat, winning 5 World Championships. Decades later she’s still a force in professional disc golf and she still largely competes in the Women’s Open division. Only a few years ago she tied for 3rd at the DGPT Portland Open in 2023. Playing mostly in Europe with the occasional visit to the States, Augustsson’s biggest win came at the 2023 European Disc Golf Championships.
