  1. If you’re gonna go deep, best go with a disc that’s endorsed by one of the longest throwers in the game. The Garrett Gurthie Halo Star Wraith is the distance thrower’s distance driver. How this batch of Halo Star Wraith feel: Noticeable dome typical of the mold. Very grippy. More about the player: Seeing Garrett Gurthie unload upon a drive you’re hit with a realization: “So that’s how you throw far!” Gurthie, who has been a staple on the Tour for 20 years (give or take a year or two when he stayed closer to his Florida home), can truly crush a disc. Though he’s won numerous distance titles, Gurthie still has the complete game. Big wins include the National Tour 2019 Santa Cruz Masters Cup, 2022 DGPT Silver Series Beaver State Fling, and the 2020 DGPT Silver Series Maine State Championships. More about the disc: The Innova Wraith is a long, stable to overstable distance driver. Released in 2005, the Wraith has not diminished in popularity. If anything, it has gotten more popular since it is so useful to so many skill levels. A real fan favorite, you’ll find a Wraith thrower at every course. GG Quote: “If you want a reliable bomber—take it from one of the farthest throwers in the game—the GG Halo Wraith is the one. It flies straight, handles power, and glides effortlessly. It feels great in hand and delivers serious distance!" Wraith Flight Numbers: 11 / 5 / -1 / 3

  2. The Innova Star Rollo puts the roller shot in the hands of … everyone! With its easy handling and automatic turnover flight, even those with less power can perform sure fire rollers and automatic anhyzers right out of the box.How this Large Diameter Mid Range disc feels: Beaded. Fairly flat. It’s like a cross between a Stingray and a Wombat3.Star Rollo Flight numbers: 5 / 6 / -4 / 1How it flies: Gone are the days of waiting to break-in that perfect understable disc. Just put some pop on a flat release and sure enough, The Rollo dives into a roll as advertised. Add some hyzer on it and, poof, you’ve got instant hyzer flips. If you’ve struggled to find a late turning disc, this could be it. Just apply ample hzyer and you’re golden. AM’s will love this disc not only for its rolling abilities, but also for its ability to get out of trouble when space is tight in the woods.Great for:Those without a sidearmLow ceiling shotsThose who haven’t had much luck with the roller in the pastStandstill scramblesHow will I throw it? This disc is not made for big power throwers. However, those with low to average power will feel like this disc was made exactly for them. 3. If you’ve got plenty of power, it’s time you graduated to the Innova Star Destroyer. It’s the overstable distance driver all others are judged by.  How it feels: Wide rimmed distance driver that feels as serious as it flies. Most have a noticeable dome. Star Destroyer Flight numbers: 12 / 5 / -1 / 3 How the Destroyer flies: Boom goes the dynamite. The Destroyer is a very fast, very overstable distance driver meant for advanced players. Thrown with the proper amount of power, the Destroyer disc flies straight followed by a slight turn for incredible distance until its mighty fade brings it back to the ground. It has no problems with headwinds and once beat in, you can expect even greater distance. Star plastic: This is the plastic the Destroyer won the world over with and what you'll find in the bag of countless professional disc golfers. Star plastic gives you incredible durability while maintaining a grippy feel in the hand. The Star Destroyer is the most popular version of the disc and provides an immediate impact upon the course. The Star Destroyer is great for: Backhand or Forehand max distance drives Overhand shots Headwinds Monster hyzer and flex shots

  4. Rekindle your love of the Innova Wraith with the beautiful two-tone color schemes of Halo Star plastic. How this distance driver feels: Wider rim, but still a pleasure to hold and release. Halo Star Wraith Flight Numbers: 11 / 5 / -1 / 3 How it flies: The Wraith is adept at providing great distance with remarkable control. A flat release will send the Wraith sailing straight and far with a touch of turn (easily stretching past 300 feet for most players) and finishing with strong fade. Backhand or forehand, you can’t go wrong either way. Halo Star plastic: The unique two-tone injection process results in beautiful, high performing discs with a “Halo” rim that is a distinctly different color than the flight plate. As far as grip and durability, Halo Star exceeds that of Star plastic. Expect the Halo Star Rollo to be slightly more overstable than the Star or Champion editions. Great for: Forehand distance crushes Downwind drives Super long hyzers How will I throw it? Despite its overstable classification, the Wraith has been celebrated for years for its usability for most skill levels. Beginners may not get a full flight out of it, but intermediate players and up will love this disc for deep backhand and forehand shots.

  6. The Innova Star TL3 makes following the straight and narrow easier than you thought possible. Plus, its boosted speed brings more landing zones and greens within reach. How it feels: Slender fairway style rim. Lower profile than TeeBird. Most have at least a modest amount of dome. Star TL3 Flight numbers: 8 / 4 / -1 / 1 How the TL3 flies: Situated smack dab in the middle of our flight charts (which is stable and straight territory), the Star TL3 is a no fuss fairway machine. It’s got more speed than the likes of a Leopard or its cousin, the TL. But, when it comes to glide, it’s got a notch less than other Innova fairway flyers, making it a line driver that doesn’t overshoot. Star plastic: If you take the best qualities of all of Innova’s plastics and combine them into one plastic, you get the Star line. Best combination of grip, durability and performance. Star plastic is typically less overstable than Champion or Halo Star plastic. The Star TL3 is great for: Straight-laced drives Controlled turnovers Finesse forehands 300-foot+ Safe shots How will I throw it?: Beginners will see moderate hyzer finishes while  intermediate and advanced players will see the most benefit from this disc. Lots of lines to be carved here, even some technical forehand lines.

How the Roc feels: The rounded, shallow rim means business, but it's not difficult to grasp. Large diameter.
