The Innova XD’s 40th Anniversary is a party everyone can enjoy, especially when you get your hands on these 40th Anniversary Metal Flake Dark Star XD’s made just for the occasion. How the XD feels: Noticeable dome. The XD’s low-profile build combined with its shallow and thin rim make for an easy, clean release. Throwback stamp: Time for a quick trip to the 1980’s with this nostalgic stamp, which is a very close replica of the early Aviar XD stamp. Aviar XD? After the Aviar made a splash as the world’s first disc designed for putting, the Aviar XD, (XD meaning Extra Distance) was released, becoming the game’s first midrange disc. Later, the Aviar was dropped from its name and it was retooled in 1990 as the more stable XD many disc golfers know so well today. How the XD flies: For decades players have adored this slightly understable disc for its easy-to-use, accurate flight and for its great feel in the hand. The XD made lasting relationships with countless disc golfers for decades. Later reclassified as a putt and approach disc, the XD has been available only in limited runs since 2016.

So, coming up with the Aceman moniker felt pretty natural. During mild and tailwind conditions you’ll experience a very fast, straight flight, followed by slight turn, and ending with reliable fade. Louhivuori says he uses the Charger particularly for woodsy situations when he doesn’t want too much fade, but still needs to crank one out to 400-feet and beyond. Set provides us with a whole new take on the Destroyer, one that’s more mainframe than bot. For this design, Marm O. Set combined several elements including a skull, trojan helmet, and futuristic robot elements. The latter drew inspiration from artist H.R. Giger – famous for his biomechanical artwork that inspired the Alien movie franchise. The 2-Color foil arrangement really brings life to the Destroyer, especially in the eyes.
