  1. Straight flights are easier than you think with the Innova Champion Atlas, the unique mid range that fuses two different plastics together. How the Champion Atlas feels: In the hand, it has a thin, shallow rim that’s packed with a lot of grip. The flight plate is stiff. Dome ranges from modest to noticeable. Champion Atlas Flight Numbers: 5 / 4 / 0 / 1 How the Atlas flies: The Atlas is a neutral flying large diameter mid range disc that’s easy to learn and even easier to fall in love with. Practically any line is within reach of this disc, provided the wind isn’t too severe. The Atlas benefits aren’t limited to the sky either. Its overmold design allows for flat landings in most cases, which limits harsh skips off the fairway. After tree hits, the length of deflections are also minimized. More about Champion Overmold: Innova’s overmold marries two separate plastic pieces together, so you never have to choose between grip and performance. In the case of the Champion Atlas, a grippy Star plastic rim is combined with a firm Champion flight plate. The Atlas features four 'compass points' located on the underside of the disc, which are used for rim molding. There’s no need to question the disc's durability because the two materials are welded together.  The Champion Atlas flies more stable than the Star edition. Great for: Straight medium length drives and approaches Touch hyzer and anhyzer forehands Immediate hyzer flips One-disc rounds. How will I throw it?: Beginner to intermediate players will see straight flights with a moderate fade at flight’s end, especially in lighter weights. Lots of versatility available here as well. Advanced players will experience straight to turnover flights from the get-go, but may overpower the disc on occasion.

It’s got a flat flight plate that feels right at home in your hand. **The Champion Jay is slightly stiffer than the Star edition.Flight numbers: 5 / 4 / 0 / 1How it flies: If you like frozen ropes with a gradual fade make some room in your bag for the Jay. It’s similar to the Lion or Shark, but with less of an overstable bite at the end. The Jay follows the line you put it on no matter which way you release it.“If you like point and shoot and you don’t want to beat the snot out of your Roc3 to get it. Out of the box you got it right here,” said disc creator Dave Dunipace. How will I throw it? 5. The Innova Toro is a great feeling overstable mid range disc that’s sure to win-over power players in any arena. And that's no bull! Just ask Calvin Heimburg. It’s his first signature stock disc! How this batch feels: A beadless and small diameter disc, the Toro, has the low profile and comfortable feel of a Rat. However, the Rim of the Toro is much beefier, like it’s been hitting the gym.Innova Toro Flight numbers: 4 / 2 / 1 / 3We haven’t had a disc with a High Speed Turn of +1 since the Viper was on the shelf. How it flies: Developed with the input of power player Calvin Heimburg, the Toro was built to handle anything you put on it for short to medium length back hand or forehand shots. “Massive torque resistance,” is how Innova co-founder and disc inventor Dave Dunipace describes the Toro’s flight, which in layman’s terms means it’s an ox of a disc.Calvin’s First Signature Disc: Heimburg says it neatly fills the overstable spot in between the 2-speed Rhyno and the 5.5-speed Caiman. It’s slow speed works ideally for shorter forehand approaches, especially in the wood, he says. The Toro disc is great for: Brute force medium length forehand and backhand drives and approaches.Headwind shots without a second thought.Short-distance S-curves.Slow-panning anhyzers. How will I throw it? Experienced players with big-time power will find an immediate spot for the Toro. Those with average and less power will use it for specific shots like the forehand (especially if other mid range discs turn over) or days with heavy winds.

  7. If you’re into close encounters with the basket, look no further than the DX Alien, the declassified multipurpose disc that can send your game to the stars. How this large diameter disc feels: The upper half has a Sonic look and feel with its domey top and familiar fastback grooves. The bottom half though, is equipped with a thicker, more modern-day mid-range rim. The DX edition is extremely grippy.DX Alien Flight numbers: 4 / 2 / 0 / 1How it flies: With a flat release in fair conditions, the Alien flies straight 200-300 feet (depending on arm speed), and then torpedoes down – its signature move. Once its flight ends, it practically falls off the table.Because of its low carry, Innova Co Founder and Disc Inventor Dave Dunipace says the Alien is ideal for “Ranging,” meaning it does a better job landing where you aim.Versatile flightShort Drives | Mid Range Hyzer or Anhyzer | Backhand or Forehand approachesMultipurpose: Everyone can find a place for this disc even as a putter because this flying saucer loves to crash land in the chains.Great for:One disc rounds (for shorter courses)Drop and stop throws needed for island holes and other perilous landing areas.Touch anhyzer approaches, where there’s trouble behindFull power anny’s that comeback as faithfully as a Twilight Zone rerunsShort forehand approachesHow will I throw it? For those with less arm speed may be surprised at the disc’s overstable finish, but once, but after some practice this disc will get lots of reps. Less experienced players should try it in DX plastic first.
