  1. The Philo Brathwaite Star Destroyer routinely turns unlikely shots into your personal web gems. How this batch of Star Destroyers feel: Noticeable dome. More about the player: Nowadays most know Philo Brathwaite for his  fun and engaging commentary for pro tour coverage. Though Brathwaite has slowed down his competitive play the last few years, he has shown he can still hang with the best like when he won the US Masters in 2023. And, you can’t mention Brathwaite without mentioning his Albatross at the 2016 Beaver State Fling (Thrown with a Destroyer). He amazingly finished the 850-foot par 5 in only 2 throws. And, it was caught on tape during Central Coast Disc Golf’s coverage.  More about the disc: The Destroyer is a very fast, very overstable distance driver meant for advanced players. Thrown with the proper amount of power, the Destroyer disc flies straight followed by a slight turn for incredible distance until its mighty fade brings it back to the ground. Why only available in 165-169 grams? Because that’s the weight of the Destroyer that landed the Albatross. Destroyer Flight Numbers: 12 / 5 / -1 / 3

  2. Gregg Barsby throws his Eagles for just about anything. His Innova Proto Glow Champion Eagle is just as versatile. Give it a ride. It’ll stay with you for a long time.  How this batch of Proto Glow Champion Eagle feel: Moderate dome. Softer Glow plastic feel. More about the player: Gregg Barsby’s biggest win came at the 2018 World Championships. But he might be just as well known for his entertaining play and infectious personality. It’s not uncommon for the popular player to strike up conversations with fans after rounds. A veteran of the pro scene for more than 20 years, Barsby has a number of other wins and feats including the unforgettable roller ace at the Masters Cup in 2009. More about the disc: The Eagle X is the original, professional level overstable fairway driver. Great option for power players looking to carve smooth lines forehand or backhand with steady fade. Eagle Flight Numbers: 7 / 4 / -1 / 3

  3. Grip like no other and super flexible, the Innova Soft Pro Toro is a delight to hold and throw. How it feels: A beadless and small diameter disc, the Toro, has the low profile and comfortable feel of a Rat. However, the rim of the Toro is much beefier. Most are pretty flat. Innova Toro Flight numbers:  4 / 2 / 1 / 3 How the Toro flies: The Toro was built to handle anything you put on it for short to medium length backhand or forehand shots. “Massive torque resistance,” is how Innova co-founder and disc inventor Dave Dunipace describes the Toro’s flight, which in layman’s terms means it’s an ox of a disc. Soft Pro plastic: This plastic is so flexy and gummy is Gumby is jealous (remember him?). Best in terms of grip for all Innova plastics, but among our least durable plastics. Ideal for cold and wet rounds. Grabs chains better too. The Toro is great for: Brute force medium length forehand and backhand drives and approaches. Headwind shots without a second thought. Slow-panning anhyzers. How will I throw it?: Beginners: We don’t recommend this disc for newer players. Intermediate players will see fairly straight mid length shots followed by heavy fade. They should stick to lighter weights unless they’ve already got a cannon for an arm. Advanced players have the green light to put everything they have on this disc and still count on a strong fade finish.

  4. Does your fairway game have the IT factor? Leave no room for doubt by throwing the Innova IT, the understable fairway driver in Star plastic that’s round ready right out of the box. What break-in time? Other understable discs, require beat-in time to achieve the desired turnover flight. Not the case here. IT is ready to fill that flippy spot from throw one.Star IT disc Flight Numbers: 7 / 6 / -2 / 1What IT is: A finesse fairway driver similar to a beat-in Leopard or Roadrunner that’s big on glide, turn, and usability. What IT is NOT: A beefy driver you will only use for specialized shots and will take months to break-in.Kinds of shots IT excels at: Turnovers that stay turned (IT’s turn is gentler than discs like the Mamba)Effortless Hyzer FlipsTunnel shots / Tight alleyways / Tough to hit gapsStandstill shotsRollersPoint and ShootThe IT disc was built for glide and ease of use. The underside of the rim is more rounded than other Innova fairway drivers and the top has a healthy amount of dome.Who should throw IT?Intermediate to advanced players looking for a dependably understable disc.Older players looking to regain that deft touch.Women and newer players in search of an easy to throw sharp shooter. Why you should buy this disc: If you are looking to make silky smooth anhyzers and hzyer flips – IT is all you need.

  5. Make your fairway game a bit more flexible with the grippy, gummy and understable Innova GStar Roadrunner. How it feels: Slender fairway style rim. Easy to grip and release. Most have at least a modest amount of dome. GStar Roadrunner Flight numbers: 9 / 5 / -4 / 1 How the Roadrunner flies: The Roadrunner is a very understable fairway driver. It produces a reliable straight or hyzer flip flight for those with less power or an easy-to-throw anhyzer or roller for those with bigger arms. Simply put, the Roadrunner disc does more with less than any other disc on the planet. GStar plastic: GStar plastic provides the most grip and flexibility from a premium Innova plastic. It’s an all-season plastic but it really shines in wet and cold seasons. As far as durability, it ranks among our longest lasting plastics. GStar plastic is typically more understable than other premium plastics. The GStar Roadrunner is great for: Effortless turnovers Your first hyzer-flip or sidearm disc Rollers Hit the gap disc How will I throw it?: Beginner to intermediate players will see straight flights right off the bat, especially if light weights used. Advanced players or those with high powered arms will turn this disc over easily. Great tailwind driver and long range roller.

  6. Fairways don't seem so tight when you have the straight flying Innova Champion Mako3 – the incredibly useful mid range disc that’ll take over your bag. How the Mako3 disc feels: The Mako3’s thin rim makes grip and release natural for any sized hands. And, after only a few throws your body will instinctively reach for it. Dome can range from pretty flat to noticeable. Champion Mako3 Flight Numbers: 5 / 5 / 0 / 0 How the Mako3 flies: The Mako3 is a neutral flying large diameter mid range disc, and it is perhaps the easiest disc to fly straight from the get-go. It’s got excellent glide and minimal fade at flight’s end. For moderate conditions, especially in the woods, the Mako3 can easily be your most used disc for medium length drives and approaches. Very versatile, especially for any must-hit-gap shot. Champion plastic is among Innova’s most durable plastics. Expect years of use with little change in flight characteristics. However, it is also among Innova’s least grippy plastics. In terms of stability, Champion plastic is among Innova’s most overstable plastics. Great for: Consistently straight medium length drives and approaches Immediate hyzer flips One-disc rounds. How will I throw it?: Beginner to intermediate players will see straight flights with a moderate fade at flight’s end. As they become more accustomed to the disc, they will experience an even straighter finish. Advanced players will see very straight flights from the start and as it ages it will become more and more of a turnover disc.
