If the finesse game is not for you, just bulldoze your way to the green with the Innova Toro – the great feeling overstable mid range that’s sure to win-over power players in any arena. Olé! Olé! How this batch feels: A beadless and small diameter disc, the Toro, has the low profile and comfortable feel of a Rat. However, the Rim of the Toro is much beefier, as if it’s been hitting the gym. Innova Toro Flight numbers: 4 / 2 / 1 / 3 We haven’t had a disc with a High Speed Turn of +1 since the Viper was on the shelf. How it flies: Developed with the input of power player Calvin Heimburg, the Toro was built to handle anything you put on it for short to medium length back hand or forehand shots. “Massive torque resistance,” is how Innova co-founder and disc inventor Dave Dunipace describes the Toro’s flight, which in layman’s terms means it’s an ox of a disc. Star plastic: If you take the best qualities of all of Innova’s plastics and combine them into one plastic, you get the Star line. All skill levels. Pros, especially pack their bag with Star plastic. Best combination of grip, durability and performance.  Great for: Brute force medium length forehand and backhand drives and approaches. Headwind shots without a second thought. Short-distance S-curves. Slow-panning anhyzers. How will I throw it? Experienced players with big-time power will find an immediate spot for the Toro. Those with average and less power will use it for specific shots like the forehand (especially if other mid range discs turn over) or days with heavy winds.

The Manta is a new VTech version of the Stingray that offers more control. The Manta has a gentle turn when thrown with power, and smooth straight glide when thrown flat with moderate power. The Manta is a good choice for beginner and is ideal for players looking for a beat in Mid-Range for finesse shots.

Dial down the Destroyer’s overstability while ratcheting up its glide and big distance potential with the grippy Pro Destroyer. How it feels: Wide rimmed distance driver that feels as serious as it flies. Flight plate can range from fairly flat to a noticeable dome. Pro Destroyer Flight numbers: 12 / 5 / -1 / 3 How the Destroyer flies: Boom goes the dynamite. The Destroyer is a very fast, very overstable distance driver meant for advanced players. Thrown with the proper amount of power, the Destroyer disc flies straight followed by a slight turn for incredible distance until its mighty fade brings it back to the ground. It has no problems with headwinds and once beat in, you can expect even greater distance. Pro plastic provides excellent all-weather grip. Typically softer and more flexible than DX plastic. As far as durability, it’s a step up from DX, but not quite the level of Champion and Star. Try the Pro Destroyer if you can’t handle the Destroyer’s overstability in Champion, Star, or Halo Star plastic. It is typically less overstable than the premium plastics, plus Pro plastic typically has more glide. Great for all out distance!
