Obstacles seems to wither away with the Rasmus Saukkoriipi Proto Glow Champion Toro from Innova. How this batch of Proto Glow Champion Toro feels: Flat. Softer feel. More about the player: Rasmus Saukkoriipi, of Finland, is a forehand specialist who’s been on the pro scene since 2022. Largely appearing in Europe, Saukkoriipi tied for 19th at the 2023 European Open and has a number of other impressive finishes. More about the disc: Bulldoze your way to the green with the Innova Toro – the great feeling overstable mid range that’s sure to win-over power players in any arena. Throw some color on your drive with the easy going and far flying Innova I-Dye Champion Gorgon. How the I-Dye Champion Gorgon feels: Easy to grip and release. Rim is thinner than other distance drivers and its underside is also flatter. All in all, it’s a distance driver in fairway driver clothing. Most have noticeable dome. Gorgon Flight numbers: 10 / 6 / -2 / 1 How it flies: With a flat release, amid mild conditions, most players will find the Gorgon travels smoothly (300 to 350+) with an easy turn and a fade that’s present, but not overly so. The disc facilitates any release angle including anhyzers that seem to sail forever. Great as a distance gainer for less powerful throwers. “It's similar to a speed 10 version of the Leopard3 or Hawkeye. Very controllable fairway driver like flight in a distance driver,” said Innova General Manager Kobyn Dunipace. Forehand: For those with moderate forehand power, the Gorgon will fit right in your bag with long, straight flights with modest turn. Those with noticeable power will find it flippy. I-Dye Champion: There’s no denying it, tie dye patterns look the best in Champion plastic. Though the grip is not ideal for inclement weather, Champion plastic is the most durable and most overstable plastic. **Dyed color remain vibrant for longer in Champion plastic. The Gorgon is great for: When you want distance driver speed but not distance driver fade Throwing anhyzers that don’t fight against you Players that don’t like super wide rims Those needing a longer fairway driver Lengthy low ceiling shots How will I throw it? In lighter weights, this disc could come in handy for beginners looking to tack on distance. Intermediate players will really benefit from this disc’s turning ease. For advance or power throwers, the Gorgon would likely be a turnover driver, but slightly less flippy in Champ plastic.

How the Wraith flies: The Innova Wraith is a long, stable to overstable distance driver. Released in 2005, the Wraith has not diminished in popularity. If anything, it has gotten more popular since it is so useful to so many skill levels. A real fan favorite no matter if you’re backhand or forehand dominant. Star plastic: Star plastic gives the best of both worlds: incredible durability while maintaining a grippy feel in the hand. It’s the plastic pros choose for drivers. The Star Wraith is great for: Controlled distance drives Sidearm blasts Headwinds Tailwind driver How will I throw it? Beginners may have trouble with the Wraith’s fade rating of 3. However, intermediate players who have come into their own can really bust loose some ultra long anhyzer flex shots with this disc in lighter weights, including for forehands. Advanced players will love crushing drives with this disc and will probably buy several.

Say Olé! to the Innova I-Dye Star Toro, the multi-colored mid range that makes every medium length shot look beautiful. **Random dye patterns will be selected. How it feels: A beadless and small diameter disc, the Toro, has the low profile and comfortable feel of a Rat. However, the rim of the Toro is much beefier. Most are pretty flat. How the Toro flies: The Toro was built to handle anything you put on it for short to medium length backhand or forehand shots. “Massive torque resistance,” is how Innova co-founder and disc inventor Dave Dunipace describes the Toro’s flight, which in layman’s terms means it’s an ox of a disc. Star plastic: Star plastic gives the best of both worlds: incredible durability while maintaining a grippy feel in the hand. It’s the plastic pros choose for drivers. The Toro is great for: Brute force medium length forehand and backhand drives and approaches. Headwind shots without a second thought. Slow-panning anhyzers. How will I throw it?: Beginners: We don’t recommend this disc for newer players. Intermediate players will see fairly straight mid length shots followed by heavy fade. They should stick to lighter weights unless they’ve already got a cannon for an arm. Advanced players have the green light to put everything they have on this disc and still count on a strong fade finish.

How the Roadrunner flies: The Roadrunner is a very understable fairway driver. It produces a reliable straight or hyzer flip flight for those with less power or an easy-to-throw anhyzer or roller for those with bigger arms. Simply put, the Roadrunner disc does more with less than any other disc on the planet. Star plastic: If you take the best qualities of all of Innova’s plastics and combine them into one plastic, you get the Star line. All skill levels. Pros, especially pack their bag with Star plastic. Best combination of grip, durability and performance.  The Star Roadrunner is great for: Effortless turnovers Your first hyzer-flip or sidearm disc Rollers Hit the gap disc How will I throw it?: Beginner to intermediate players will see straight flights right off the bat, especially if light weights used. How the It disc flies: The It is an understable fairway driver similar to a beat-in Leopard or Roadrunner that’s big on glide, turn, and usability. Other understable discs require beat-in time to achieve the desired turnover flight. Not the case here. The It is ready to fill that flippy spot from throw one. The It is great for: Turnovers that stay turned Effortless Hyzer Flips Standstill shots Rollers How will I throw it?: Beginner and intermediate players will have an easy time throwing the It straight or even anhyzer. Great first disc, even in more overstable premium plastics. Advanced players will likely overpower this disc, but it could be their go-to finesse driver in max weight or in the more overstable Champion plastic.

How the Destroyer flies: Boom goes the dynamite. The Destroyer is a very fast, very overstable distance driver meant for advanced players. Thrown with the proper amount of power, the Destroyer disc flies straight followed by a slight turn for incredible distance until its mighty fade brings it back to the ground. It has no problems with headwinds and once beat in, you can expect even greater distance. Star plastic: This is the plastic the Destroyer won the world over with and what you'll find in the bag of countless professional disc golfers. Star plastic gives you incredible durability while maintaining a grippy feel in the hand. The Star Destroyer is the most popular version of the disc and provides an immediate impact upon the course. It will still come out. Watch the Charger valiantly fight back during medium-force headwind shots. Overall, it’s a very tightly tuned disc.
