Elevated putts. They’re definitely a part of the game, even in the Gnomes version of Cap-Cap with acorn caps and mushroom catchers. In August’s edition of the Gnome Driven INNColor series, artist Skeet Scienski brings us as close to the gnome golfers as we’ve ever been.
Much of Skeet’s Gnome illustrations are based on his rounds, and he remembers that day well at the Dry Creek Disc Golf Course in Monroe, N.C., when he came across the little fella putting amid the formidable wind in the grassy savannah part of the course. Skeet said he couldn’t get a pic of this clutch putt, but he was able to draw the scene from memory.
One thing he couldn’t forget was that the mushroom catcher was actually growing from a purple disc lost in the high grass. It’s something Gnome Driven fans may not have noticed until this INNColor version of the illustration.
